A Cute, Unique Little Journal
A Cute, Unique Little Journal
A friend of mine recently created a journal from a neat wallet she picked up at a thrift shop. It was amazing so I put it on my list of things to try. This wallet arrived in an auction box and I set it aside with this project in mind. Seemed a perfect fit for it. Last week, I saw it again on the shelf and had a TON of ideas. So away we went.
This little journal measures approximately 4 x 6 inches. I added a few charms to the zipper pull. Two emerald green beads from a broken vintage necklace; a glass crystal from a vintage light fixture or lamp and a little tiny license plate that was part of a vintage key chain. There is a faux buckle on the front and there are two pockets, front and back on the inside. It is made from a lacey wrist cuff piece from a lady’s blouse.
There are over 20 pages (40 pages front/back) of vintage paper including dyed, ledger and more. There are a few tuck spots here and there but I left the journal for the new owner to decorate. It will arrive with a 5 x 8 inch envelope full of ephemera for you to use. The signature pages are sewn together but I did not sew them to the journal itself. Instead there is a piece of elastic that allows the signature/papers to be removed, added to, etc.
It wanted to be have a lean to travel and it would be a perfect size to pop into your purse and away you go! Stylin’ all the way to the store!
