Doctor Roberts, DVM
Doctor Roberts, DVM
I had no idea the paths this little brochure would send me back in history! Came across a 1948 brochure. It is an advertisement for Waukesha Wisconsin’s Dr. David Roberts’ (DVM) medicines. He was born in 1866 and passed away in 1951.
Roberts veterinarian and In 1904, he incorporated the Dr. David Robert's Veterinary Company to produce animal medicines and sold them throughout the United States. He was the State Veterinarian from 1906-1908 and he also published a book called "Practical Home Veterinarian."
I deconstructed the brochure, then reassembled it in a vintage calendar. It was a bit of an experiment but I like how it turned out. I left calendar pages and any horse related calendar pictures. There were two brochure pages I couldn’t decide which side to use. So I laminated both. One is the back page of the brochure. It has wear that exposed the cotton content of the paper! Couldn’t let THAT disappear- I’ve never seen paper like it!
There are 18 pages (36 counted front and back.) There are a few pockets to hold paper and ephemera. There is a LOT of writing/drawing room and lightly decorated. I’ll send along some ephemera so you can add your own touch too. It measures approximately 8 x 6 inches. I will also send along the story of Dr. Roberts.
Price: $14.50
